ABOUT

My name is Vanessa Leazenby. I am a mom of 5 beautiful and rambuncitous kiddos, wife of an incredible, intelligent, strong, loving, hardworking (ok, fine, I'll stop) man named Josh, and I'm a Doula and Personal Chef. I have always been drawn to birth and even considered a career as an OBGyn, but found my true calling (other than Mom) as a Doula. I am trained in and have experience with many methods and techniques including Bradley Method, Hypno birthing/babies, rabozo, Spinning Babies, belly binding and taping, reflexology, massage and accupressure. I feel that husbands/partners are an integral part of the birth experience and enjoy helping them to know how to support you as the mother. I believe in the power of nurturing with good food and good company. I love food and believe that if we take care of our bodies by feeding it well, it will take care of us. I enjoy using my degree as a Chef to nourish my clients. I serve the Bakersfield, California area. I always bring tastey, nutritious treats to births and also offer postpartum meals for after baby is here and all the help has gone home. Birth is an amazing, beautiful, inspiring part of our life. Every mom and couple should be able to approach and experience birth without fear, allowing themselves to trust in their bodies and their power as creators.

In 2009, I received my degree in Culinary Arts from Utah Valley Univerity. Since then I have enjoyed catering weddings, small events such as birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, private dinners and lunches, and weekend retreats. Together we'll create a menu and flavor profile that is unique to your passions, personality, and taste.
